Integrate if you can

This integral has always troubled mathematicians even my maths teacher couldn't do it.
So if you can solve it consider yourself to be in the league of aryabhatta and ramanujan.

Integrate log(1 + tan x)dx

I think that when you try to integrate the expression that you have left out we reach back from where we had started .
ie
integration of 1/(1+(y-1)^2).logy dy

If this integral has limits 0 to π/4, it is trivial to solve. But indefinitely, this integral is so complicated that it can't be asked even in IIT-JEE. I've seen the solution and it's scary. It has about sixteen terms in its expression, and involves the PolyLog function.
